Welcome to author Debra Holt

Hello, Debra, congratulations on your book release!

Let's hear a little about it.

BLURB:

“He’s back.”

Words Macy Donovan hoped to never hear.

Trace Cartwright was the maverick rodeo cowboy who broke her heart, leaving her on the steps of the church on the eve of their wedding. Now he's returned to build his home and to lay claim to her heart ... again. Macy barely survived the broken heart the first time. Does he think he can walk back into her life and take up where he left off?

Sounds good. Now for an excerpt:

Well, she was a take charge kinda gal now wasn’t she? The girl Trace Cartwright had left behind would have shrunk away into a dark corner to lick her wounds. But that’s not who she was anymore. Her eyes flew to the rearview mirror. Then her brain took over, and she spun the truck into a U-turn at the end of Main Street…good ting the sheriff was looking the other way. The element of surprise was on her side, and she would use it.

****Interesting!

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

Born and raised in the Lone Star state of Texas, Debra grew up among horses, cowboys, wide open spaces, and real Texas Rangers.  Pride in her state and ancestry knows no bounds and it is these heroes and heroines she loves to write about the most.  She also draws upon a variety of life experiences including working with abused children, caring for baby animals at a major zoo, and planning high-end weddings (ah, romance!).

When she isn’t busy writing about tall Texans and feisty heroines, she can be found cheering on her Texas Tech Red Raiders, or heading off on another cruise adventure.  She read her first romance...Janet Dailey's Fiesta San Antonio, over thirty years ago and became hooked on the genre. Writing contemporary romances, is both her passion and dream come true, and she hopes her books will bring smiles...and sighs...to all who believe in happily-ever-after’s.

Welcome to author Karen Michelle Nutt

Two Worlds Collided

GENRE:  time travel romance/ rock star fantasy

BLURB:

Evie Reid, on a whim, agrees to travel back in time to 1997 to change bad boy Bellamy Lovel's path of destruction. She's smart with a college degree, but she's still fan-girl crazy for the rock band, Civilized Heathens. Evie knows despite all Bellamy's smiles and enthusiasm on the stage, he's destined to end it all on one lonely night in a hotel room unless she can change his path.

Bellamy isn't keen on having Evie as his personal assistant, hired by his band mates to watch over him, and keep him on schedule. However, there is something about the woman that sparks his interest, despite his best to ignore her. When darkness threatens to consume him, he realizes she may be the only light that will chase the shadows away.

Excerpt:
Evie stood in the center of their clasped hands like they were going to play a game of London Bridge is Falling Down. The nursery rhyme seemed almost fitting. However, she wouldn't be repairing a bridge, but a life. Making it stronger in hopes that despair didn't weaken the mind where irrational decisions lay in wait to destroy. Evie stood nose to nose with the cardboard cutout of Lovel. It seemed creepy to be staring into those baby blue eyes and smiling face when she was about to take on a mission to save him from killing himself.

"If you zap us to oblivion, I'm going to be so mad at you," Lisa grumbled.

Kelsey ignored her and began the spell, "Send Emerson Violet Reid back to August 3, 1997, before Bellamy Kendrick Lovel drew his last breath." She went on and recited something that Evie didn't understand, something old and foreign, but as Kelsey spoke the words, the air around them felt different, heavy and charged. She gripped the necklace tighter and her gaze shifted to the cardboard Bellamy lookalike. The world tilted, making her dizzy and Kelsey's voice grew farther away. Then she felt a surge of wind around her, and a light so bright she shielded her eyes. Darkness blasted her senses next, and her body felt weightless as it zoomed through a black void. Sounds blasted her from every side and she wanted to cover her ears but couldn't move. She was at the mercy of whatever force was driving her away from her friends.

Review:

Everyone has dreamed of going back and changing things. What if it were possible? Evie’s favorite rock singer died when she was a young woman who was working as a nurse. She is now the head of his fan club, and she and her friends remember the beloved singer from a decade earlier. Then the chance of a lifetime comes and. Evie can go back and save him. Years before, she had had the chance to accompany him with his band in order to keep him on schedule, but she had turned the job down. This time, she won’t. Perhaps she can be enough of an influence to save his life. Will it be safe to do so? How will he react to her?

This is an exciting story about second chances. Both Evie and Bellamy, her beloved singer, are well-developed characters. The interaction between them is realistic and interesting. A reader wonders, while perusing this story, if Evie will be successful, and even if she is, will she go back to her time and remember the past, or will she live those years all over again? Perhaps she will not save him but will learn something important. Time travels can go many ways. Is there a single timeline or many simultaneous ones? These are questions one might consider while reading about Evie’s and Bellamy’s adventure. Without giving away the ending, it can be said that the pace is quick. This is a fast, easy read with its steamy moments. Character development is weaved nicely around actions that lead to an exciting ending. For those who love time travel stories, this one will leave you happy that you picked it up.

Welcome to author Polly White

Hello, Polly, welcome to my blog, and congratulations on your book release'What If I Go?'!

Let's hear a little about it.

Blurb:
'Grace Negrescu is a Romanian teenager dreaming of UK streets paved with gold. Zul Mohammad is the savvy bad-boy from Birmingham who saw her coming. At first, she craves independence. Then money. Then love. What she gets is a rough deal

While she figures out what she actually needs in an unfamiliar city, she spirals towards abuse. Amidst a cocktail of toxic sweeteners, her instinct is never to give up but a new friend recommends that she run. Only her diary knows everything. What if she goes?

Bewildered, she considers the tortuous case presented by Detective Inspector Stretton. By dropping superstitions, she could believe in a worker at the Centre called Joe, telling  her about deserving justice. Hopefully, she can reclaim her identity and switch to the right path... Until Grace discovers how to trust again, what are the chances?

Despite these complications, all she needs is faith.

A cautionary tale for older teens, parents—anyone who's questioned how innocent students from good families are so easily sucked into the sleazy underworld.'

Excerpt (1st page)from 'What If I Go?':

'Chapter One Grace is on Her Way
Believe me. If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn’t have left home. Mother said something about God’s protection. Rewinding was not an option, but leaving our village seemed a no-brainer then. I was clutching a lucky ewe’s tooth deep inside my wax coat pocket, and my future was sorted. ‘Welcome to Britain,’ the pilot announced. Still, I felt I’d been given a break; doors were opening at last. The vibrant rays coming through the plane window weren’t quite as vivid as those in my dream, but it was okay. My journey had begun. Then I had stomach cramps after the touch-down at Birmingham Airport. That triggered running for the loo. Lucky I didn’t know about the dodgy deal I’d signed up to. A good job or I’d have begged a seat on the next flight back to Bucharest. Faking it, I kept my eyes focused ahead and rubbed away the creases from my best pink blouse, tucked neatly into my jeans. I convinced myself I could do this travelling abroad thing and desperately wanted to make a good impression, but dragging my wheelie case made me melt into a messy heap. That wasn’t a good start. A fine drizzle crazed the huge arrivals hall windows blurring my vision; the air was muggy. When I reached for a body spray out of the suitcase side pocket, it got kind of awkward. Breaking one of their silly rules about liquids, I passed on sharing the pepper spray joke with my cousin because the natives were far too jumpy. Instead, I texted home - Got ere safe, which I kind of had done. That was premature. My mobile was confiscated not long after.'

Bio:
Author Polly White admits to being around forty. Her absolute favourite place to go with her family is the seaside, which is a long way from the suburbs where she lives in the Midlands, UK. To keep fit she runs along paths. That's when she imagines her characters in their own setting, aiming to offer a heads-up to readers. She attended a conference supporting victims of sexual exploitation called Hope for Justice and spoke to police, as part of the research for this realistic fiction. However, holding her protagonist’s hand was scary. The ebook called, ‘What If I Go?’ is aimed at college and uni students. Dealing with sensitive coming-of-age issues in an easy read way, the story of Grace acts as a heads up for others to avoid falling prey to gangs. The aim is to raise awareness of issues that can make students vulnerable, in a culturally cohesive manner. She is an advocate for young women and loves to empower them through her fiction. Polly is a multi-genre author with previous short story success. Her muse has a Christian voice. Her characters learn by experience making the read more authentic.
